Overview
It is a heady mix of solitude, wildlife sighting, and physical challenge to trek to Everest Base Camp from Tingri. During this trekking, you will cover 70 kilometers in four days, and the route will take you to the plateau at an altitude of 4400m to 5200m. You will be able to explore the valleys and glaciers below the massive north face of Mt. Everest as well as see its most spectacular scenery on the way to Everest Base Camp.
Itinerary
Your guide will welcome you when you reach Lhasa, be it by plane or train. Along the way, you can view the Yarlung Tsangpo River (the longest and widest river in Tibet) and Lhasa River.
At Potala Square, you can capture mesmerizing photos of the area, with the fountains of several colors adding an extra charm to the spot. New visitors in Tibet are advised to take it easy and let their body adjust to the high altitude before exploring more of Lhasa City. A good rest in your hotel is surely recommended.

This tour will first take you to the Potala Palace, the winter palace of the Dalai lama since the 7th century. It houses invaluable collections such as gilded burial stupas and a meditation Cave.
Following lunch, visitors can explore Jokhang Temple which dates back to when it was constructed by the 33rd king of Tibet. Inside is a statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at twelve years old and outside pilgrims prostrate before it. Surrounding the temple one finds Barkhor street, where one can take part in kora with others, as well as an old market.

In the morning, you'll be headed to Drepung Monastery, one of the "great three" Gelug monasteries located in Tibet, founded back in 1416 by Jamyang choge, one of Tsongkhapa’s main disciples. Besides visiting the largest kitchen inside the monastery, you'll get to experience Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop near Drepung.
A hot attraction at Sera Monastery is the Monks debate at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon. It is another of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet. You can also visit the Tibetan religious scripture printing house, which has three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Paintings of Buddha inside the monastery.

Our route will take us to Gyantse via the Friendship Highway, where we will reach Kambala Pass at 4794 meters in altitude. From the top of Kangpa-la, 4700 meters above sea level, you can see the stunning shade of Yamdro-tso Lake that resembles a coiling scorpion with deep blue colour. Our next stop will be Gyangtse, where we will visit the famous stupa - Gyangtse Kumpum, one of Tibet's most beautiful architectural wonders.

We will have a early start in the morning and drive to Shigatse that is 90km from Gyangtse and visit Tashilunpo Monastery and visit the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas. We drive along the Friendship Highway via Lhatse and Shegar to Old Tingri via Lhatse and Shegar. While your guide prepares for the trek, you may see Cho Oyu in the distance.

The trekking route takes us from Old Tingri to Tingri Plain, passing part of the Ra-chu Valley, a stunning valley with extensive meadows and flocks of sheep and goats. During the rest of the day, we can visit a small monasteries in Choelun. There are only herders and barley harvesters living in this region.
Camp in Lungchang
Today is the beginning of the challenging trekking as we go up into the mountains. The climb to Nam-La will be steep, and we will camp at the summit.

The trek starts in the morning with the opportunity to meet yak herders and their families. Our camp will be pitched in the small village of Zom-mug, where trekkers are about to witness the amazing sunset.

During the last day of our trek, we will reach Rongbuk and Everest Base Camp. Along the way, we will also be able to visit the Dza-Rongbuk monastery. Historical sites remain.

Early in the morning, enjoy sunrise on top of Mt. Everest. Then we will drive to Sakya Monastery. Sakya Monastery is one of the four main Buddhist schools in Tibet. It was from here that the whole of Tibet was governed during the Sakya hegemony period and even today you can see historic structures here. (The largest book in the world is in Sakya's great library, written in gold.) After exploring the monastery, we will head to Shigatse.

Drive to Lhasa along the Yarlung Tsangpo river. You will enjoy Tibetan villages and great landscape.
