Explore Rebkong’s Vibrant Tibetan Thangka Painting Arts

Our staff will pick you up at 9am and drive for 2 hours to Rebgong (Tong Ren) where we will visit two sister monasteries called Seng-ge Shong upper and lower temples. These two villages are renowned for their Thangka painting.

You'll also have the opportunity to explore some of the Thangka painter's houses, learning more about the making and meaning of Tibetan traditional artwork. Later in the day, you'll stay in a Modern Tibetan Home-stay, providing an opportunity to gain further insight into Amdo Tibet.

In the morning after brakfast, we will visit Rebkong Rongwu Gonchen - the mother monastery of 36 other regional monasteries. This is a large monastery and you should allow around 3 hours to visit all chapels before we drive back to Xining in the afternoon, transferring you back to your hotel there.
